Consejo de Certificación de la Asociación Dental Mexicana
Routine and restorative dentistry: crowns, fillings, root canals, extractions and dentures. Most dental tourism is this work, not specialist surgery.
General dentistry has no specialty board in Mexico, so the credential to ask about is certification by the Consejo de Certificación de la Asociación Dental Mexicana. The ADM holds the reconocimiento de idoneidad from the federal Dirección General de Profesiones under registry SEP/DGP/CP125/22, which is what separates it from a trade association badge. Certification is voluntary, and 1,953 dentists nationwide hold it.
The ADM directory publishes a name and a state, and nothing else. There is no certificate number to quote and no expiry date to check, so this page says a name was found on the register on a given date, and does not dress that up as more than it is.
Worth being blunt about: a name on a register is weaker evidence than a certificate number with an expiry date. This site treats it as what it is, a roster check, and does not describe it in the language of a certificate. Only oral and maxillofacial surgery, which certifies through CONACEM, publishes enough for a patient to re-check independently.
Most of this work is one or two visits. Crowns and dentures usually mean a fitting and a return trip, so ask whether the practice has an on-site lab before planning the days around it.
A cap fitted over a damaged tooth to restore its shape and protect what is left of it.
Removal of infected pulp from inside a tooth, then sealing the canal so the tooth can be kept.
Removal of a tooth that cannot be saved, including surgical removal of wisdom teeth.
Removable replacement teeth for part or all of an arch, either resting on the gum or clipped onto implants.
In-office bleaching to lighten the colour of the natural teeth.
62 dentists state this specialty on their listing. No certificate has been confirmed against the council for any of them, so treat it as self-reported and ask for the certificate number before booking.

Less than you might expect, and this page would rather say so. The ADM directory publishes a name and a state, and nothing else. There is no certificate number to quote and no expiry date to check, so this page says a name was found on the register on a given date, and does not dress that up as more than it is. The cédula profesional is the credential that carries real weight for this specialty, and that number is published on each profile with the date it was confirmed.
No. Dentists pay to be listed and to be promoted, and that is disclosed on every page. A credential is either confirmed against a public source or it is not, and the listing says which. Payment can move a dentist within a verification level, never across one.
