Dental costs · checked October 2026
What dental work costs in Mexico, next to what it costs at home
Market prices from private clinics in the United States, Canada and Mexico, shown as ranges, with a source and a date behind every one. The saving is real. It's also often overstated by putting the top of a US range against the bottom of a Mexican one, so here both sides are typical prices.
Typical price, US dollars. Canada is in the table below.
Price by procedure
Three countries, one row each
Typical price in bold, market range underneath. US and Mexico in US dollars; Canada in Canadian dollars, the way a Canadian patient reads it. Trips is how many times you usually travel for it.
Ranges collected October 2026. US: ADA fee survey summaries and CareCredit national costs. Canada: provincial fee guides 2025 and 2026, plus clinic-published prices. Mexico: 91 prices published by private clinics and chains in seven cities, converted at the Banxico FIX rate of October 1, 2026. Estimates for budgeting, not quotes: your own price depends on imaging, bone condition, materials and how many teeth are involved.
Your own number
A table is an average. Your treatment isn't.
Pick the procedures and how many teeth, where you'd fly from and where in Mexico you'd go. The calculator looks up the flight and the hotel live and shows the total in your own currency, next to what it costs at home.
Before you compare quotes
What a Mexican quote often leaves out
Two quotes for the same work can differ by half, and the cheap one is usually cheap because something is missing. Ask for each of these as its own line.
- ImagingPanoramic X-ray or CT scan, and whether it is in the price.
- Extractions firstAny tooth that has to come out before the work starts.
- Bone graft or sinus liftOnly if the imaging shows you need one, priced on its own line.
- The material, namedThe implant system or the crown material by brand. A quote that will not name it is your answer.
- What goes on topThe crown or bridge on an implant is often quoted separately from the post.
- TemporariesWhat you wear between stages, and whether it is included.
- Follow-up visitsWhich ones need you there in person, and what they cost.
- If something needs redoingWho pays, and where it gets done.
Every procedure
Cost guides, one per procedure
Each guide has the range, what to get in writing, how travel changes the math and the questions patients ask most. 4 procedures have no sourced range yet, so they show no number rather than a guess you might budget around.
The price only matters if the dentist is real
Every dentist listed here has their cédula profesional number published with the date it was checked against the federal registry, and a link so you can repeat the check yourself in a couple of minutes.
